I am an amateur photographer based near Norwich, Norfolk, with a real passion for creative photography, graphics and editorial work. I have covered a mixture of work from family portraits, informal wedding photography, to published book front covers and published book illustrations and photographs.

All photos in this portfolio are watermarked to prevent theft, this website is optimized for 1280X1024 screen res.

My Bio

My History With Photography

Photography has always surrounded me; from a young age I can remember my dad sorting his slides into a projector carousel for the family to spend an evening together viewing our past holidays or various family events. He would painstakingly take these photos using his Canon AE1 SLR and slide film (what I later found was a challenging medium to use in photography) and would carefully order these to create a story of the event.

Having had a fascination with taking photographs from a young age I only ever had access to a 35mm automatic camera. I later was bought an APS canon compact camera, I took this everywhere and began to acquire more interesting pictures often of our cycling expeditions. When I was 17 I began a course on 'black and white' Photography which began at the basics, from loading film into a cartridge, through every manual aspect of a camera, taking an interesting shot to developing my photos by hand. This cemeted in place a love for photography. I studied Radiography, another form of taking pictures you could argue. In 2002 I bought my first digital semi-SLR: a Fuji Finepix 6900 which had a fixed lens but boasted all of the manual functions of a proper SLR. Frustrated by its limitations of a digital viewfinder and slow picture taking I invested in my first proper digital SLR: a Canon 300D. It was from this point that photography became more than a hobby, it became a passion! I now own a Canon 30D with a variety of lenses

My Interests

• My favourite photography subject is Macro
• Some graphics work using Photoshop including event posters
• Creating Typography
• Flying my radio-controlled glider with on-board camera
